About Clinical Piercing
Clinical Piercing founder, Julie Black-Peart stresses that ear piercing should only be done by a professional, regardless of the clients age. Pierding is a parents' or personal choice, backed in tradition and history. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends professional piercing be held until a child is mature enough to ask for and take care of new piercings. No matter the age, Julie takes the process seriously, always putting client safety, health and comfort first, to provide a more satisfying ear piercing experience than at the mall. The piercing process always follows standard aseptic techniques for infection control, cleanliness and maintenance of the sterile piercing earrings.
We use the Blomdahl Medical Ear-Piercing system. Their encapsulated cartridge assures earrings are sterile, single use and never touched. Earrings are adorned with high quality European crystals, manufactured under strict sterile conditions; and made of implant grade titanium, or 100% medical grade plastic, making the jewelry appropriate for persons with metal allergies.

Earlobes Only
Due to the increased risk of infection, extended healing time and potential damage to cartilage, we do not pierce other parts of the ear, navel, nose or any other body part.
Years of Experience
Julie has been an advanced practice provider since 2000. She's worked in family medicine, asthma-allergy and immunology, academia and gynecologic oncology. She is knowledgeable about the needs of clients with allergies, and issues such as torn lobes and keloids.

PIERCING MINORS
IMPORTANT NOTICE
We prefer to pierce infants at least 4 months old, and after the second DTaP vaccine is given. Exceptions to this policy may be made at our discretion.
- Children must sit still during the procedure to help ensure proper and safe piercing placement.
- We reserve the right to cancel piercing if it is believed that circumstances are unsafe, due to a child’s inability to cooperate, or if the process is prolonged and affecting other scheduled clients.
IF A CLIENT REFUSES PIERCING
- If a client refuses to go through with piercing after an earring package is opened, the earring must be paid for: $24 + tax each. Opened earring packages are no longer sterile and are discarded for safety reasons.
- There is no charge if a client changes their mind after arriving for an appointment. However, we ask that you be sure you are ready for piercing, so not to take an appointment slot that could have been available.
